Family fun in Stratford this Whitsun

The Shakespeare Houses are hosting a number of exciting daily activities for families from Saturday 29 May – Sunday 6 June. With Fairy Trails, Herbs & Healing and walks through the beautiful and tranquil gardens, there is plenty to entertain the entire family during the Whitsun Bank Holidays.
At Anne Hathaway’s Cottage near Stratford-upon-Avon, children can follow the ‘Fairy Trail’ through the magical woodland walk and find the fairies from A Midsummer’s Nights Dream. The little fairies will be hidden along the way so children will need to keep their eyes peeled. On arrival, children will be given a quiz sheet to help them track down the fairies and identify them. Families can enjoy walking around the extensive gardens and admiring the beautiful native English flowers, shrubs and traditional vegetables grown in the grounds of this magnificent Shakespeare House.
Visitors to Hall’s Croft can find out what life was like 400 years ago at the historic home of Dr.John Hall, Stratford’s emininent Tudor physician. Children can learn all about ‘Herbs and Healing’ by potting up herbs and discovering how they were used in 17th century medicine. Children can also take part in an exciting new Herbs and Healing quiz. Visitors can also take time to enjoy the tranquil garden, filled with beautiful roses and herbs mentioned by John Hall in his medical notes.
