Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey will invest £1million in providing brand new community and sports facilities as part of its ongoing homes development at The Parks in Bracknell Forest.

The money will be spent on creating a community facility, football, cricket and rugby pitches plus an all-weather multi-use games area alongside the new houses and apartments now taking shape within this popular development.

The facilities are designed to complement the new homes and provide residents with opportunities for recreation, and will be available for local people across the community to use. It is expected they will be completed within the next two years.

Tim Betts, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Every single home we build is part of a community, and we are committed to ensuring that The Parks does much more than just provide high-quality properties for local people.

“This exciting new community project will bring a wealth of fresh recreation opportunities for Bracknell Forest residents, and we are very much looking forward to turning our plans into reality.”

The Parks is a development of 730 homes located on the grounds of Ramslade House, a former RAF training college, and comprises a combination of one and two-bedroom apartments through to two, three and four-bedroom houses.

About 30% of the properties are designated as affordable housing through schemes such as shared equity, HomeBuy Direct and the First Time Buyers Initiative.

More than 300 homes have already been built, with the development set for completion in 2015.

The Parks is fringed by acres of picturesque woodland and lies less than a mile from Bracknell town centre, yet just a few minutes’ drive from a vast expanse of wooded countryside, including Swinley Park and the Berkshire Golf Club.

Local schools have an excellent reputation, and for commuters, Bracknell railway station is a mile from the development, offering regular services to London’s Waterloo and Paddington in 60 minutes, and Reading in just 20 minutes. The M3 and M4 are accessible via the location’s good road links.

Homes currently available for sale at The Parks include two-bedroom apartments from as little as £179,995, two-bedroom houses from just £224,995, three-bedroom houses from only £249,995 and four-bedroom houses from £369,995.
