Dental nurse Diane Bowness and her family are all smiles after moving into their stylish new Barratt home at Horton Park in Blyth, Northumberland.

Diane, partner David Wright and their children Kieran, 9, and Alicia, 5, were the first buyers to move into the development and used the Barratt part exchange service to move from their old home in the town into a 4-bedroom detached ‘Ripon’ house.

“We wanted a big house on a nice development, close to family and local amenities, which is why we chose Horton Park,” said Diane. “There’s a big garden too, so it’s just perfect for us.

“Our old house was 40 or 50 years old, so it’s brilliant to move into a brand new home. Everything is fresh and finished to a high standard, and the children have much bigger bedrooms than before. We love it.”

The ‘Ripon’ is one of Barratt North East’s best-selling family homes with plenty of versatile living space. It incorporates an integral garage yet the design cleverly provides a fully-fitted breakfasting kitchen. There is a living room, dining room with French windows into the garden, utility room and an en suite to the main bedroom.

Diane and David, who works at the Alcan aluminium smelter in Lynemouth, will also benefit from added peace of mind thanks to the exclusive Barratt 5 year warranty on fixtures and fittings in their new home.

Diane said: “The part exchange service was absolutely fantastic. Everything went very smoothly and our sales adviser Andrew Somerville was very professional.

“From start to finish, he kept us informed about everything we needed to know and was always there to call on.”

She added: “Now my mother has decided she’d like to live here too. She’s buying an apartment and will be moving in later in the year. We’re really happy here.”

The development is in an excellent location off Chase Farm Drive with a variety of amenities on the doorstep and easy access for commuting.

There is a range of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom homes priced from £95,000 to £220,000, and Barratt has a selection of low-cost homebuying schemes available, which mean buyers could pay from as little as £125,995 upfront for a 3-bedroom home.

Barratt North East was recently confirmed as one of the highest quality housebuilders anywhere in the country after achieving a 5 star rating in this year’s Home Builders Federation (HBF) customer satisfaction survey.

The showhome and sales centre at Horton Park is open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm. For more information, visit: barratthomes.co.uk/hortonpark
