Deposit help for buyers in Devon

New apartments at Orleigh Cross, close to the Devon coastline yet only 30 minutes from Exeter.

Stylish new apartments in Devon are now more affordable than ever thanks to a 5% gifted deposit being offered by award-winning housebuilder Redrow.

The one and two-bedroom apartments are available at Orleigh Cross, Newton Abbot, located close to some of the most stunning countryside and coastline in the UK, yet just a 30 minute commute to Exeter.

With a number of 90% mortgage products now on the market, Redrow will provide half the amount required to secure such a loan - a considerable sum that will really ease the pressure, particularly on first-time buyers.

With prices starting from £120,995 for a one-bedroom ‘des res’ and £138,995 for a two-bedroom property, the apartments are free from stamp duty for first time buyers as they fall well below the £250,000 threshold for would-be home owners.

Hannah Newnes, sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West), said: “Our apartments at Orleigh Cross can offer home buyers the laid back lifestyle they crave in a beautiful area of the country.

“We’ve listened to what our buyers look for in a home and translated that into our apartment designs, which include cleverly laid out spacious rooms, a plethora of storage options and some seriously stylish features like our floor to ceiling kitchen units in contrasting finishes and our contemporary white bathroom suites.

“In addition, all the homes are built to modern energy-efficient standards and are designed to be easy to maintain and keep clean.”

Less than a mile from Newton Abbot town centre, the apartments are perfect for young professionals, holiday home-owners and the early or active retired, who are looking to escape the hectic city life or indulge in a few of the many leisure activities that are available in the area.

The development also includes three and four-bedroom homes and is close to Dartmoor National Park. There’s easy access to the M5, while Newton Abbot train station is around a mile away and has regular direct services to Exeter and Torquay. Close by there is a good choice of primary and secondary schools, as well as leisure and health facilities.

To find out more visit Orleigh Cross between 10am and 5.30pm Thursday to Monday.
