Teeing off at Retirement Villages golf event

John Raitt was the triumphant winner of the Sutton Green Seniors Open 2010, an annual event which sees competitors gathering from as far afield as Scarborough and Jersey. The Burhill Golf Club member was presented with his prize by representatives of sponsors Retirement Villages Ltd, which owns the neighbouring Mayford Grange retirement village.
Almost 90 senior golfers – or STAGS as they are known at Sutton Green – gathered for the 18 hole annual event at the club on the fringes of Mayford, near Woking in Surrey.
Mr Raitt was declared the visiting winner and presented with an engraved cut glass bowl by Retirement Villages Ltd’s Managing Director Care Division Paul Walsh.
“We are delighted to be continuing our involvement with the local community and Sutton Green Golf Club,” said Paul Walsh. “The competition is an important one for the golf club and we’re pleased to have been able to mark the winner’s achievements.”
Mayford Grange comprises 42 one and two bedroom apartments and a central clubhouse with communal facilities available for the exclusive use of residents. For more information visit: retirementvillages.co.uk
