Fancy dress fun for kids

17th June 2010 Print

It’s every parent’s worst nightmare, another fancy dress party for which your child needs something to wear. However it needn’t be so.

There are lots of things lying around the house which omit the need to hire or buy a costume from an expensive dressing up shop. Tea-towels, cereal boxes and even egg cartons can all be made into clever accessories with a bit of creativity.

It does not take much work to make your child’s outfit look authentic and most things are safe enough to make together. What better opportunity for bonding than creating a Captain Jack Sparrow outfit? And you don’t have to rely on sunny weather either. Even if the whole weekend is a wash out, you and your aspiring pirate can have lots of fun creating and playing dress up indoors.

To help you make the most of your quality time Wardrobe Master from Legally Blonde David Stringer has teamed up with LEGOLAND Windsor, to show you how to make a pirate costume in 6 easy steps. And with a little imagination, you too could be dressing pirates, princesses and even superheroes!

In the following video David takes you through the steps along with the help of a very jolly pirate.
