Travelling with young children? Be prepared

As a mum, preparing for the annual summer holiday can be a stressful ordeal - packing for yourself, the children (and maybe even your husband too!), trying to squeeze everything into the suitcase and making sure you don’t forget the passports.
Mums with babies and young children should follow this checklist to help ensure your summer holiday is stress free and memorable for all the right reasons:
• ‘Say Cheese’ – Make sure those treasured moments of your little ones building sand castles covered in sand is captured, so remember your camera or video camera. These are memories that you will want to keep forever.
• ‘Teething Problems’ – To make sure you are not caught out on the flight or round the pool with a screaming, teething baby, pack a product to help soothe and calm the symptoms of teething, such as Nelsons Teetha. Nelsons Teetha is a homeopathic remedy specially designed for the soothing and calming relief of the symptoms of teething. It contains a 6c homeopathic potency of natural Chamomilla.
• ‘Don’t blame it on the sunshine’ – Little ones have thin, delicate skin that can burn easily in the sun, so make sure you pack plenty of sun protection of at least factor 20, and a hat to shade their face. Also keep babies under six months of age out of the direct sun.
• ‘Bite Back’ – Insect bites can be very painful and distressing so it’s worth packing a product to help relieve the symptoms of insect bites and stings such as itchiness, soreness or stingy pain, such as Nelsons Pyrethrum Spray* for on the spot relief traditionally used in the symptomatic treatment of insect bites and stings. If you are particularly susceptible to insect bites, then pack an insect repellent to prevent you from being biten.
• ‘Soothe a Cough’ - The most common cause of a cough is a cold and the average baby catches between 8 and 10 colds before their second birthday . It is therefore quite possible that your baby could catch a cough or cold whilst on holiday, or on the plane journey. Nelsons Sootha is a homeopathic remedy that can help bring gentle relief to children’s coughs, suitable for children from 12 months onwards, it contains a 6c homeopathic potency of natural Bryonia.
