1st July 2010 Print

Award-winning low fares airline Monarch has launched a brand-new scheduled service from London Gatwick to Palma, on the Balearic Island of Majorca.

The new service will operate three times per week* and sees the total number of flights operated by Monarch to the island rise to 23 per week, complementing the existing scheduled flights from London Luton, Birmingham and Manchester airports.

Services started on Saturday July 17th and flights are available to book via monarch.co.uk with fares from only £42 one way, £68 return including airport taxes.

Commenting on the new Gatwick-Majorca service, Managing Director of Flights and Holidays Tim Jeans said: "We are seeing a surge in demand for the Western Mediterranean this summer, particularly to the Balearics, and are delighted to be able to introduce our first scheduled operation from Gatwick to Majorca to meet this demand.

"We already have a successful flying programme to the island from our other UK bases and I am confident that we will be able to increase our frequency of flying to Majorca in response to continued demand for flying."

* Flights operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays – see website for full details.
