Home buyers are turning to Barratt at the Old Cider Works in Taunton in a bid to make their first step on to the property ladder. And the developer is celebrating the success of a special scheme designed to help the dream of a brand new home become a reality for many.

Barratt offers HomeBuy Direct on some of its homes – but time is running out for eligible buyers to take advantage of the scheme.

“We are keen to show people it is often possible to buy a home for the first time – even when the door seems shut and a recent HomeBuy Direct event was a great success with three immediately reserving a property,” said sales manager Mary Daymond.

“HomeBuy Direct is the perfect solution because eligible buyers need only find 70% of the purchase price. Up to 30% is funded by a shared equity loan from Barratt and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). And now, on all of these deals, buyers only need a five per cent deposit.”

With a selection of two, three and four bedroom homes, The Old Cider Works offers something for everyone.

Currently available under the HomeBuy Direct scheme are two of Barratt’s eye-catching three bedroom Brandon family homes. Boasting a spacious and light lounge, this design also includes a kitchen fitted with attractive contemporary units and a dining area. Access to the garden is through french doors.

An entrance hall leads to a downstairs cloakroom. And, upstairs, the three spacious bedrooms offer plenty of room for first time buyers and growing families. Prices start from £178,950.

Also available under the scheme is a two bedroom Norton apartment. From £146,500, this home offers an open-plan living and dining room – giving a light and airy feel. The kitchen includes modern fitted units and ample storage space is offered within the entrance hall and throughout the rest of the apartment.

The Old Cider Works is a much awaited site at the foot of the Quantock hills and just outside the thriving market town of Taunton.

As its name suggests, The Old Cider Works, is the regeneration of a disused cider plant and is within easy reach of both the town and the surrounding villages for all local amenities and services.

For details of current availability at The Old Cider Works visit the sales office, open daily from 11.00am to 6.00pm.
