Family walking holidays on the Isle of Wight

2nd July 2010 Print

HF Holidays is highlighting its seven-night ‘Guided Walking Families Plus’ holidays starting 24 and 31 July, plus 7 August on the Isle of Wight which are designed especially for younger families.

As well as the normal choice of three walks, there’s an easier option for younger children – an extra-short, part-day walk which is ideal for little legs – and for toddlers, it’s also possible to hire a papoose. After the walks, play leaders are on hand at the house to organise games and activities.

Based on sharing an en-suite family room at the company’s Freshwater Bay Country House – situated on the island’s west coast – the costs are £659 per adult and £329 for up to two children (aged four -17 years and sharing with two adults). Under fours are free of charge.

These prices include full-board, the programme of organised walks and social activities, transport to and from the walks, plus the services of an HF Holidays’ walks leader.

In addition to direct access to the beach, facilities at Freshwater include an outdoor heated pool, children’s playground, outdoor games such as Connect4, putting, croquet, badminton and tennis, plus a playroom with a selection of board games and table tennis.

Nearby attractions include the Dinosaur farm museum and Osbourne House and for those opting for the week commencing 31 July, there’s the additional appeal of Cowes Week - the UK’s most prominent sailing regatta.
