Rachel Suckling, 22, a PA for a director at a Mayfair-based company, has taken her first step onto the property ladder in Greenhithe at Thames Waterside by Fairview New Homes. Having been in her job for three years and living at home, Rachel realised she wanted more independence and so decided to move out of her mum and stepdad’s house in Dartford.

“Renting wasn’t really an option for me as I didn’t want to be pouring money into something I didn’t own,” says Rachel. “I was always looking to buy, but property prices in London are just too high for my budget. Working in Mayfair meant I needed to live somewhere with a reasonable commute into the capital.

“Fairview’s Thames Waterside is an ideal choice for me, as the train station is a two minute walk away and trains to London Bridge take only 39 minutes – the same journey time as travelling from Dartford. Daily commutes to work can have such a great effect on your quality of life and this is something that I couldn’t compromise on. What’s more, the road connections from Greenhithe are so convenient, which means I can visit my Nan down on the South coast via the M2 and see my mum whenever I want, which is great!”

“I visited the marketing suite at Thames Waterside and immediately fell in love with the new homes. As they are right on the riverfront, the views from some of the properties are spectacular. The specification for the interior, especially the kitchens, was impressive and my apartment has a good-sized balcony; definitely a place to show off to my friends and for evening drinks.” adds Rachel.

Rachel bought her new two-bedroom home at Thames Waterside for £189,000 and was able to take advantage of Fairview New Homes’ 5% deposit top-up incentive for first time buyers.

Rachel continues, “My new home will hopefully be ready in September and I am so excited to move in. The area is fantastic, perfect for young professionals, with a 24-hour Asda right on your doorstep and Bluewater just minutes away. I also get a secure underground parking space, so I will definitely be taking my car with me.”

Thames Waterside is a development of one, two and three-bedroom apartments in Greenhithe, Dartford. The contemporary and stylish new homes are set around landscaped gardens which compliment the peaceful riverside location of the development – perfect for summer living and beyond.

With prices from £144,995, these new homes are perfectly priced for those looking to buy their first home. Jim Holliday, Sales Director of Fairview New Homes, comments: “At Fairview, we aim to provide high quality new homes at the most competitive prices on the market. First time buyers are finding it harder and harder to step onto the property ladder, so we are hoping to help them out at developments like Thames Waterside, with prices that they can afford and incentives like the 5% deposit top-up.”

Greenhithe is part of the Thames Gateway Regeneration project that has received large amounts of funding from the government over the past decade to transform it into the thriving and aspirational area it is today. The town has a large number of local restaurants, pubs and bars and has the largest number of green spaces and parks in the borough. For the more active, there are many local activities with the Kent countryside just moments away, local river walks and outdoor activities based from Bluewater, including cycling, rock climbing, boating and fishing.

The stylish new properties at Thames Waterside will have open-plan living areas with timeless neutral tones to complement the tranquil surroundings. Each apartment will have fully-fitted Symphony kitchens, with fan ovens, electric hobs and washer-dryers.

Prices for new homes at Thames Waterside start from £144,995 for a one-bedroom apartment.

For more information and prices visit the marketing suite, open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm.
