Summer in Cornwall

The Oystercatcher pub proudly stands above the popular seaside village of Polzeath and has panoramic views of the beach and surrounding countryside. Popular with surfers and families alike, the pub offers a range of self catering accommodation including a detached cottage in the grounds with August availability across a range of dates.

The apartments are located on the ground floor, the first and second floors of the building and a number of them take advantage of views across the beach. The Oystercatcher cottage is in the grounds and has sea views from the lounge and patio area.

The Oystercatcher is popular with visitors and locals alike and offers a very friendly welcome all year round. Food is served all day from 12 -3 and 6 - 9 pm with food available all day on Saturday and Sunday until 8.00pm (and they also do a Sunday roast!).

Other than July and August it is a venue for live music on Saturday nights but don't worry, they won't spoil your beauty sleep - the set usually finishes at 11.30 p.m. We can't think of a better way to start your holiday - unpack the suitcase and then trot into the bar for a cup of tea or a pint! In fact you could manage to do without the car all week if you like as everything you could possibly need is right there in the village - lovely big beach (great for children and for surfing), surf schools and hire, food shops, restaurants and magnificent coastal walks.

Padstow is a quick ferry crossing away from Rock (about a mile and a half) and just down the road is Daymer Bay and Trebetherick. If you fancy eating in Padstow there are also water taxis operating late into the evening from Rock. Also in Polzeath is a centre for a Voluntary Marine Wildlife Area initiated by North Cornwall Heritage Coast and Countryside Service, who also promote an understanding of the area through walks, talks and beach events. There are two golf courses within 5 minute drive (St Enodoc has one of the finest links courses in the South West). And finally - if football is your drug of choice what better place to watch the World Cup than on the big screens at the Oystercatcher!

All the sixes - Cornish Horizons (cornishhorizons.co.uk) are offering six nights commencing 14 August at Oystercatcher apartment number 6 for up to six people for only £706.
