Finding the perfect new home is about to get easier for first time buyers across Cornwall – thanks to a special event organized by South West Homes.

Barratt will be amongst a team of experts at the free event, to be held on Friday 9 July at Municipal Buildings, Boscawan Street, Truro. Between 12.00 pm and 6.30 pm, potential buyers can get all the advice they need to secure their first home.

Sales manager, Mary Daymond, believes now is the perfect time for buyers to take their first step in to the property market – and that the dream can become a reality for many:

“The door may seem firmly shut for some buyers. But that really isn’t the case,” she said. “It is often possible to buy a home for the first time – even in tough financial times like these.

“There are schemes in place to help people climb on to the property ladder. And our experts are standing by with plenty of information about deals like HomeBuy Direct.”

HomeBuy Direct is the perfect solution because eligible buyers need only find 70% of the purchase price. Up to 30% is funded by a shared equity loan from Barratt and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

“This is really the last chance for buyers to take advantage of HomeBuy Direct because the scheme is due to end shortly,” said Mary Daymond. “But those who attend the event on 9 July can turn to us for advice on this and a whole range of schemes and deals, designed to help them in to a stunning new Barratt home at one of our Cornwall developments.”

Barratt’s popular development in Bodmin, Canyke Fields, offers a selection of homes – many of which are perfect for first time buyers. The three bedroom Maidstone is priced at £177,500 and the popular three bedroom Norbury townhouse is available from £193,500.

Canyke Fields is within easy reach of local transport links and all local amenities and services.

“Anyone who feels they can’t proceed on buying a new home because of financial constraints can turn to us for advice,” said Mary. “The event in Truro gives us the perfect opportunity to help buyers overcome such problems – and we are very much looking forward to meeting them on Friday.”
