David Wilson hosts first time buyer event in Somerset

Anyone who has been priced out of home ownership and wants to get onto the property ladder is being urged to take advantage of the inaugural First Time Buyer Month organised by Somerset’s leading housebuilder.

David Wilson Homes is offering a range of attractive deals to help First Time Buyers purchase a place of their own. The housebuilder is inviting prospective homeowners to special weekend events at their developments throughout July to explain what is on offer.

At the events buyers will have the opportunity to discuss mortgage options with financial advisers and talk to David Wilson’s sales team about the deals on offer.

“Our message is very simple – you don’t need a big deposit to buy a new home from us,” said Bernice McKenna, sales director at David Wilson Homes.

“You could move in for just 70 per cent of the price thanks to the HomeBuy Direct low-cost home ownership scheme. The remaining 30 per cent is covered by a loan from Barratt and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency together with the buyer’s deposit.

“It means that your deposit could be as little as £8,398 at Wilstock Village. But you’ll need to move quickly because the scheme is coming to an end.

“We also have a helpful scheme of our own called Head Start, under which buyers can move in with an 80 per cent mortgage and a five per cent deposit.

“David Wilson Homes is offering ways to make home ownership more realistic and affordable for First Time Buyers which the second-hand market simply cannot match. I would urge anyone who is interested in finding out more to come along to one of the events we are organising in July.”

The First Time Buyer events will be held on the 17th & 18th July at Wilstock Village in North Petherton.
