The Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm is to celebrate its 25th anniversary on Saturday 24 July. The UK’s largest tropical butterfly paradise opened in 1985 and will celebrate this exciting and momentous milestone with a family fun-packed day for visitors and a special evening party for invited guests.

Firmly positioned as Britain’s largest and most successful butterfly farm, the Farm attracts over 110,000 visitors each year. To mark the occasion the Farm is organising a host of family activities including a quiz and face-painting plus free balloons for children. In the evening guests can celebrate by enjoying a slice of delicious anniversary cake and listening to live music.

Anyone who visits during the anniversary weekend and purchases a full priced ticket will receive a free return ticket which can be used from October 2010 – February 2011.

Staff will also bring out some of the insects including beetles, stick insects and spiders for visitors to handle and look at. Visitors can also admire the stunning new butterfly garden which opened recently enabling visitors to see an extensive range of British butterflies in their natural habitat. The butterfly haven features the top 10 butterfly nectar plants plus a special butterfly meadow mix of 80 different species from around the world and is a sea of colour.

Emma Butt, Marketing Manager of the Stratford Butterfly Farm stated, “We are delighted to be celebrating our 25th anniversary which is an important and significant milestone.
