Two Derbyshire site managers for Miller Homes East Midlands are celebrating after winning a prestigious national award.

Andy Jackson and Allen Marshall have both been named winners of a coveted Pride in the Job accolade from the National House-Building Council (NHBC), an awards programme designed to recognise the achievements of the best site managers in the UK.

Both Andy, who oversees the Cavendish Wharf development in Shardlow, and Allen, who looks after Royal Gate, close to Derby city centre, underwent an 18-month judging process, including spot checks on the day-to day running of the sites.

They were both assessed across 38 areas of site management and tested on technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and the quality controls they have in place at their developments.

Malcolm Ceney, production director at Miller Homes East Midlands, commented: “The adjudication process for these awards is extremely detailed and only those who demonstrate the highest standards actually receive an award. Therefore the whole team is delighted by Andy and Allen’s success.

“Their efforts at Cavendish Wharf and Royal Gate are testament to the fact that after 75 years in the industry, Miller Homes are still producing affordable, quality homes for life.”

It is the second year in a row that Andy has won a Pride in the Job Award and he now goes forwards with Allen, and other winners from Miller Homes in the East Midlands, to take part in the next stage of the competition, where they could be in line for a Seal of Excellence 2010 or a special regional award.
