Barratt North East focuses on first time buyers

Anyone who has been priced out of home ownership and wants to get onto the property ladder is being urged to take advantage of the inaugural First-Time Buyer Month organised by Barratt North East.
The leading housebuilder has a range of attractive deals to help first-time buyers and is inviting prospective homeowners to a series of special weekend events at its developments across Wearside and County Durham throughout July to explain what’s on offer.
At the events buyers will have the opportunity to discuss mortgage options with financial advisers and talk to Barratt’s sales team.
First-Time Buyer Month events will be held on 24 / 25 July at Lyons Park, Hetton-le-Hole and The Sidings, Blackhall Rocks; and on 31 July / 1 August at Castle View, Sunderland, Highfields, Sunderland, and Teal Park Farm, Washington.
“Our message is very simple – you don’t need a big deposit to buy a new home from us,” said Fenton Hewitt, Sales Director at Barratt North East.
“You could move in for just 70 per cent of the price thanks to the HomeBuy Direct low-cost home ownership scheme. The remaining 30 per cent is covered by a loan from Barratt and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency.
“It means that your deposit could be as little as £3,780. But you’ll need to move quickly because the scheme is coming to an end.
“We also have a helpful scheme of our own called Head Start, under which buyers can move in with an 80 per cent mortgage and a five per cent deposit.
“These are ways to make home ownership more realistic and affordable for first-time buyers which the second-hand market simply cannot match. I would urge anyone who is interested in finding out more to come along to one of the events we are organising.”
