New homes in Hartford are ripe for the picking

A small and intimate development of just 20 homes in Hartford, Cheshire, is perfectly ripe for a range of traditional looking family homes set among mature fruit trees.

Due to go on sale in August, with a fully furnished show home opening this autumn, Hollies Farm will feature predominantly four and five-bedroom detached executive homes with double garages, plus half-a-dozen two-bedroom apartments.

Located off Woodham Close, the homes will be based on Redrow’s critically acclaimed New Heritage Collection, but adapted to suit the local vernacular following consultation with Vale Royal planners.

The existing farmhouse will be retained, as will the mature orchard trees that grace the site.

Elaine Mounsey, sales manager for Redrow Homes (NW), says: “This is a beautiful site, in a prime location and perfect for our new generation of traditional looking, high-specification family homes.

“Our research tells us that the majority of our customers want a conventional two-storey home with lots of external character, perhaps evocative of the family home they grew up in, with a good size garden, a private driveway and its own garage attached to or close to the property. That’s exactly what we will be providing at Hollies Farm.”

Launched earlier this year, Redrow’s New Heritage Collection is influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement of the late 19th and early 20th century, with features including dropped eaves, projecting plinths, bays and other distinctive window styles, plus timber or tiled canopies over doors and windows.

One of the most popular and enduring of English architectural styles, the Arts & crafts influence can also be clearly seen in many so-called ‘character’ homes of later periods, especially the 1920s and 1930s.

Inside, Redrow’s homes have been brought right up to date for 21st century family living, with an emphasis on convivial open plan living spaces, contemporary kitchens with floor to ceiling cabinets, central islands and top name appliances, plus statement-making bathrooms with quality fixtures and fittings.

The new development adjoins a previous Redrow development, Royal Pines, which proved to be extremely popular.

“Those homes have held their value well and we envisage that some of our customers for Hollies Farm may well be existing Redrow home owners looking to trade up to a larger or newer model,” said Elaine.

The site is currently bordered by open fields on one side yet is within walking distance of the shops and services of Hartford town centre.

The existing farmhouse will be sold privately once development gets underway and Redrow has committed to providing a piece of public artwork as part of the project.

Until a sales presence is established at Hollies Farm, in Hartford, would-be customers can register their interest online at redrow.co.uk.
