The Village – Taylor Wimpey (formerly Bryant Homes Telford) has three ‘HomeBuy Direct’ homes left at its Millennium Community development, Ketley. Three bedroom homes with roof terrace now £115,495.

Taylor Wimpey West Midlands has saved the best till last because they’re all in the striking, three storey ‘Lawley’ design, so those looking for new homes in Telford can now entertain three double bedrooms (one with ensuite) a spacious reception room with French doors to the rear, plus a desirable and versatile study/bedroom with its own stunning roof terrace. What’s more, they’re all available as part of the soon-to-finish Government-backed scheme ‘HomeBuy Direct’ Telford, which means superb family homes are now available for 70% of the price – with only a 5% deposit to pay!

HomeBuy Direct Telford is aimed at helping buyers with a household income of less than £60,000 to afford the home they want. An interest free equity loan is available for up to 30% of the value of the property, co-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and Taylor Wimpey. And that means a stunning ‘Lawley’ mews home with garage that’s available on the open market from £164,995 is now available for nearly £50,000 less.

Jan Titley, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey in Telford, explains: “For those looking for houses to buy in Telford then HomeBuy Direct is a great way to afford their first property. It’s designed to overcome the hurdles of high mortgage costs and larger deposits which – despite the market recovering well - are still preventing many people from buying. No interest is charged on the equity loan for the first five years and the buyer has to contribute the remaining equity through an agreed mortgage. Buyers are also able to pay off the equity loan in instalments at any stage after the first 12 months or sell their HomeBuy property on the open market if they wish – with the equity loan being repaid by way of a share of the sales proceeds.

“Our Lawley first time buyers to date love the fact they have an extra floor, plus a large dining area, as well as a kitchen diner, for both cooking and entertaining. But they also have two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a garage, a private garden, plus that study room with roof terrace to die for. They never thought they would get such spectacular new homes in Telford as first time buyers – and it’s all down to this innovative and money saving scheme. The other two remaining ‘Lawley’ homes are semi detached and available from only £170,995 on the open market, but the HomeBuy Direct Telford price for first time buyers is just £119,696 and that’s a massive saving of £51,299.”

The Village is one of only seven Millennium communities in the UK designed to increase energy efficiency and lower our carbon footprint. Every property has an EcoHomes ‘excellent’ rating and this reduces metered energy consumption and mains water consumption by 20%. Increased circulation areas created by roomier living spaces, high insulation levels and low energy heating systems all contribute to the homes being more environmentally friendly. The development is also making a name for itself within new homes in Shropshire because residents are able to have their say on how the development is maintained through a pioneering community trust system, which places maintenance decisions in the hands of those who actually live there. There are even schemes in place at the development to encourage greener modes of transport.

The Village is open daily between 10am and 5pm.
