With recent news* out that first time buyers now need to find an average of £37,000 up front before they can buy their first home, Taylor Wimpey Midlands says that isn’t the case at its Regency Square new homes development in Burton Upon Trent where it’s HomeBuy Direct*** scheme is currently available on a selection of new homes that would be perfect for first time buyers – all they need is £5,530**!

Using the government-backed HomeBuy Direct scheme, Taylor Wimpey is able to offer budding home owners an affordable way to secure their dream starter home. HomeBuy Direct is aimed at helping purchasers with a 5% deposit and household income of less than £60,000 get onto the property ladder. Anyone purchasing using the scheme owns 100% of their home from day one but needs to pay only 70% of the price now, using a low interest equity loan to fund the remaining cost of the property (APR 1.75% pa).

Anne Wallace, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Midlands, said: “Whilst it’s certainly true that for many first time buyers getting onto the property ladder costs a great deal of money, the financial hurdles facing many are lowered significantly if they’re able to use HomeBuy Direct. The scheme is designed with first time buyers in mind and offers a realistic way to achieve the dream of home ownership.

“As you can imagine this scheme is very popular and, as there’s limited availability, those interested in finding out more should get in touch with us now to avoid missing out.”

HomeBuy Direct is currently available on selected new homes at Regency Square, including plot 79, the Wells, which is a four bedroom three storey home priced at just £157,995.

When complete, Regency Square will offer a collection of two, three and four bedroom homes in a convenient location in the delightful market town of Burton upon Trent. There are numerous amenities on the doorstep including several specialist shops, a post office, library and supermarket. For commuters Burton has easy access to the A38, A50 and M1 making trips to Derby, Nottingham and Birmingham quick and convenient.
