Leading housebuilder behind the Chestnut Grove development of property for sale in Hucknall strengthens its ties with the local community through school project.

Leading housebuilder Bryant Homes is putting down roots in the community surrounding its beautiful Chestnut Grove development of new homes in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire – by helping children at a nearby school plant trees.

The theme of tree conservation is already at the heart of this stunning new development of Hucknall flats and houses, which takes its name from the beautiful copse of mature chestnut trees being preserved on the fringes of this attractive location, along with other native English species.

So it was particularly appropriate that Chestnut Grove sales executive Steve Walker and site manager Richard Boaden went along to Annie Holgate Junior School in Hucknall and rolled up their sleeves to help the pupils plant more trees to be enjoyed by generations of school children in the future.

They picked up their shovels to join the school’s Eco Action Team, which comprises 30 pupils aged from seven to 11, who have already achieved the Eco Schools bronze and silver awards and are now working towards the top standard – The Green Award.

Together they planted four fruit trees – an apple, a pear, a plum and a cherry – donated by Bryant Homes, which will help the children learn about healthy eating and growing their own food, as well as how trees help the environment by producing oxygen.

Carolyne Watkinson, Regional Sales Manager for Bryant Homes, says: “Our stunning development at Chestnut Grove may be Hucknall’s newest neighbourhood, but we’re already enjoying playing a big role in the wider community and we are delighted to be able to help Annie Holgate Junior School with their tree-planting project.

“The pupils have shown a real dedication to becoming more eco-friendly, from growing vegetables and flowers and not dropping litter to using less energy and recycling, and we hope our help will boost their bid to achieve the Green Award as well as leaving a beautiful legacy for pupils at the school for generations to come.”

Chestnut Grove lies on the southern edge of Hucknall close to picturesque open countryside, yet is ideally located within easy reach of Nottingham, one of the country’s most vibrant destinations for shopping, leisure and nightlife.

Closer still, Hucknall is home to shops catering for everyday needs and more, while Bestwood Country Park – 650 acres of wildflower meadows, ancient oak woodland and mill lakes teeming with water birds – is just a short distance away.

To find out more about the delightful new homes at Chestnut Grove, the development is located in Maple Leaf Way, off Nottingham Road, Hucknall, and is open Thursday to Monday from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
