A Bank Holiday family break in London

16th August 2010 Print

To celebrate the last weekend before term time beckons, the InterContinental London Park Lane has wrapped its “back to school” themed kids cook class and brunch into a family weekend in the city.

The August Bank Holiday Weekend Family Package for mum, dad and one mini guest includes:

- In room movie with popcorn
- Overnight stay with guaranteed upgrade to a superior room
- Brunch for the whole family at Cookbook café
- Entry to the “Back to School” themed Kids Cook class (Bread Pencils, Apple Satchels and Edible Rubbers are on the menu) and kids leave with their own made culinary creations, chef hat, apron and wooden spoon.

The family package price of £289+VAT is based on overnight accommodation for 2 adults and 1 child, and just £130 for an additional child and extra room. The offer is available from 28-30th August inclusive, subject to availability.

An upgrade to the 7th floor views over London in the hotel’s Club InterContinental, serving breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails and canapés is available for the whole family for an extra £90, subject to availability.

While the mini-chefs cook, brunch at the cookbook café for the grownups is a 4- hour unlimited affair over the weekend papers. Think eggs any which way, made to order waffles and pancakes, pastries and Tapas-style hot feasty mains.  The salubrious, fresh market table is a full with cheeses, delicious salads, cold meats, breads, pickles and sashimi… and a huge pudding station too.  The unlimited Bloody Marys, Bellinis, sparkling Cremant, tea and coffee are (unsurprisingly) popular “wash downs”.
