The dream of a brand new home is set to become a reality for first time buyers in Gloucestershire – thanks to a special event organised by Barratt.

Potential buyers were treated to a BBQ event at Barratt’s Orchard Leaze in Stroud – with special access to a range of experts able give to advice on a host of property market topics.

“Those seeking new homes sometimes feel unable to buy because of financial constraints,” said sales director, Andrea Pilgrim. “This event gave our experts an opportunity to shed some light on the often confusing process of buying a home. It really is far more straightforward than people think.

“Owning your own home is something many people aspire to – but it is tricky for some to finance that first step. We are delighted to be able to help by offering a number of schemes – including the soon to end HomeBuy Direct.”

This scheme gives buyers the opportunity to move in for just 70 per cent of the price – with the remaining 30 per cent covered by a loan from Barratt and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency together with the buyer’s deposit. This means a smaller mortgage – making the monthly repayments much more affordable.

“This scheme is still available at Orchard Leaze but this is really the last chance for buyers – with the government-backed scheme ending shortly,” said Andrea Pilgrim. “Buyers will need to move very quickly if they would like to take advantage of HomeBuy Direct to help them buy a new home here.”

During the event, would-be buyers were introduced to the range of superb new homes available to them under the various schemes offered at Orchard Leaze – including the Milton design.

From £145,995, the Milton is a two bedroom apartment with ensuite facilities.

“This wonderful apartment is perfect for first time buyers,” said Andrea. “It offers plenty of space – and the second bedroom is perfect for friends and relatives who want to come and stay.”

Orchard Leaze is situated in the charming town of Stroud, surrounded by the stunning countryside and hills of the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Noted for its quaint, steep streets and cafe culture, it provides the perfect setting for buyers looking to combine an idyllic rural place to live with a close proximity to all local amenities
