Putting on a show at The Leazes, Throckley

Two newly-opened showhomes are wowing visitors to Barratt North East’s development at The Leazes in Throckley, on the western edge of Newcastle.
The showhomes have a contemporary vibrant feel, with up-to-the-minute colours and stylish furnishings, and offer potential buyers the opportunity to visualise the mark they could make on their own home at The Leazes.
The “Derwent” and “Gloucester” family homes have been designed by Anne Raine Interiors.
The “Derwent” design has a light and spacious living room and dining room where Anne has matched subtle horizontal stripes in iced spearmint wallpaper with white leather sofas. Black, grey and cream floral curtains and black framed mirrors complete the cool look.
The contemporary theme continues through to the fully-fitted kitchen which has cream New England Shaker-style units and black worktops.
The master bedroom, which has an en suite and dressing area, has a feature wallpaper of trailing columns of leaves in pale spearmint and soft brown against a cream background, with headboard and Roman blind in co-ordinating colours.
Delicate shades of spearmint and silver are predominant in Bedroom 2 while the third bedroom is decorated for a child, with white and pink butterfly wallpaper, white furniture and pink spotted bean bag.
In the “Gloucester” showhome, striking shades of burnt orange, taupe and cream dominate.
The living room and dining room has a metallic taupe and burnt orange leaf design wallpaper, cream curtains with horizontal bands of colour, cream sofas and a taupe shag pile suede rug.
The kitchen features latte gloss units and walnut woodblock worktops.
In the luxurious master bedroom, Anne has teamed up a bronze and black woodland design wallpaper with checked curtains, a brass bedstead and high gloss bedside cabinets.
Bedroom 2 has curtains in contrasting shades of pecan, amber and brown, while bedroom 3 is styled as a teenager’s room with a day bed set against a coffee and amber “parklife” wallpaper and gingham accessories. Bedroom 4 is for a youngster, in peach with a white fluffy Roman blind.
Fenton Hewitt, Sales Director at Barratt North East, said: “The showhomes have attracted a lot of attention and offer a great opportunity for visitors to see for themselves the style and quality of the homes we’re building at The Leazes.
“They also provide inspiration and ideas for people to see how they could stamp their own identity on a new home here.”
The Leazes is a development of 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes in the popular village of Throckley. It is in an attractive setting with the Tyne Riverside Country Park nearby, while offering an easy commute to the city centre and access to the Western bypass.
Prices range from £98,000 to £207,000. Move-up buyers could take advantage of the famous Barratt 7-day part exchange service, while first-time buyers could benefit from helpful purchase packages.
The showhomes and sales centre on Coach Road are open from 10.00am to 5.00pm, Thursday to Monday.
