Walking in the Majella National Park, Italy

The Majella is one of Italy's newest national parks that combine desert-like high altitude plateaus with deep, wild valleys that cut into the heart of the limestone mountain.

A medium-length walk takes you into the dramatic Orfento Gorge, before opening out into wildflower meadows of Lama Bianca. Over 1,800 plant species have been documented in this National Park, 1/3 of the native Italian range.

The Majella boasts stunning views, great walks and a special combination of rural France and attractive spa town (Caramanico) nearby, that draws walkers back time and time again.

OFFER: 10% discount on an Original Escape 09-16 September and 22-30 September. 5% discount for a No-Frills Hosted Escape on the same dates. Prices start from just £289 pp.
