First time buyers get on the ladder in Wrexham

First time buyers Kristin Wright and Kimberley Boothby have stepped onto the property ladder sooner than expected.

They’ve been able to do so thanks to the help available when buying a brand new home from Redrow.

Kristin explained: “We wanted to buy a home of our own but didn’t think we could afford to as we didn’t have a large cash deposit. The sales consultant at Pentre Bach explained that Redrow would match our deposit with up to 5% of the purchase price. It was an offer we couldn’t refuse and was the best way for us to step onto the property ladder.”

Kristin, 22, and Kimberley, 21, have now moved into their two-bedroom ‘Broadford’ style home at Pentre Bach, in Wrexham – and help with the deposit wasn’t the only advantage of choosing a new-build home.

“Buying a brand new home has saved us time and money as we didn’t need to buy any white goods – they were all included in the fully fitted kitchen. And because everything’s totally new, the house didn’t need any repairs or renovations, which meant we could move in straight away,” Kristin commented.

“I would definitely recommend Redrow to other home buyers, both first time buyers and those with families as there’s a good choice of properties available.”

Elaine Mounsey, sales manager for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “At Redrow we understand that it can be difficult to raise a large cash deposit to buy a home; that’s why we offer to match customers’ deposits pound for pound for up to 5% of the purchase price. It’s a great way of help those who are starting out in life but can also benefit other buyers.

“However, we’re flexible in our approach and can offer customers a tailored package of help to suit their circumstances. For example, those with an existing home to sell may be able to take advantage of part-exchange and use their current property as part-payment for the new home they want to buy.”

Elaine explained: “With part-exchange we effectively act as a ‘cash buyer’ for the customer’s old home, enabling them to move up the property ladder without having to worry about estate agent’s fees or getting caught up in a complicated chain.”

Located off Ruthin Road, just a short distance from Wrexham town centre, Pentre Bach benefits from the town’s amenities but is also close to the glorious North Wales countryside. It’s well placed for commuting to Chester and Oswestry and is around seven miles from the A55 North Wales Coast Road.

Current availability at Pentre Bach includes a selection of three and four-bedroom homes, with prices starting from £158,995.

Three fully furnished show homes are now open at Pentre Bach and help to demonstrate the breadth of choice available.
