Waitrose celebrates Organic Fortnight

Duchy Originals from Waitrose is celebrating the Soil Association Organic Fortnight with the news that it has scooped nine awards at the Soil Association Organic Food Awards 2010. 

The Soil Association Organic Food Awards  recognised old and new alike with Duchy Originals’ first product, the Original Oaten Biscuit winning Highly Commended alongside newcomers to the range;  Duchy Originals From Waitrose Pork & Buttered Leek Sausages, Cumberland Ring,  Highland All Butter Shortbread Fingers,  and  Devonshire Treacle toffee. The  awards mark the start of the Soil Association Organic Fortnight which runs from the 3rd -16th of September.

The new Duchy Originals from Waitrose range, the result of a unique partnership announced last year between Waitrose and Duchy Originals, is re-launched in Waitrose branches this month. Boasting a new look, and over 150 products, there is something to tantalise every taste bud.  And to mark the occasion, tonight will see Duchy Originals on-screen debut with the brand’s first television advertisement screened on ITV1 at 7.00pm.

Made in Devon, our dark chewy organic toffee is blended with West Country double cream, butter from Somerset and Fairtrade sugar. Lovingly made by Brownes - an award winning Devonshire Confectioners.

Duchy Originals From Waitrose  Pork & Buttered Leek Sausages (£3.09)
Plump, juicy sausages made from prime cuts of organic pork shoulder. Seasoned with sea salt, nutmeg and cracked black pepper and blended with chopped, buttered leeks. Our free range organic pigs thrive in the open fields of East Anglia and are reared by a small select group of farmers chosen for their high welfare standards and commitment to quality.
