Beckenham development is perfectly placed

If you long to live in the perfect location but without being too far from London, take a leaf out of Dr Mohamed Hammadeh and Dr Rim El-Rifai’s book and consider the leafy London suburb of Beckenham.

“Having lived in East Dulwich for the last 13 years, we decided it was time to move to a bigger home with a larger garden,” says Mohamed. “We are both consultants – I work in Woolwich and Rim in Carshalton – so we wanted something that was between the two. Most importantly, we wanted to be relatively close to London but with the added benefit of living in a more rural location."

“By chance, we were driving through Beckenham,” says Rim, “when we saw the signs for Millwood Place and decided to take a look. We were impressed with the external design of the development and the fact that there are only four homes, making it more exclusive and private. It was perfectly located for work for both of us, and trains from Beckenham offer direct services to London in as little as 20 minutes. More importantly, it is a wonderful location with a rural feel - the development backs onto woodland and is surrounded by trees. We decided to come back the following weekend when the development officially launched so that we could take a look inside.”

“The home we bought is a good size with the layout exactly the way we wanted,” says Mohamed. “There is a beautiful, large open-plan kitchen/family room with bi-folding doors leading on to the rear garden, a separate living room and dining room and study. Upstairs, there are five good-sized bedrooms and a spacious family bathroom. Outside, the landscaped garden is the perfect size to give us outside space that is easily maintained.”

With so many positives, what was their main reason for buying their new home?

“We are really happy with the house,” says Rim, “but I would have to say that the location is the real plus for us. Waking up and looking out at the trees and greenery was exactly what we had wanted and yet we are really close to London. We are very pleased with the external look of the home as well -  Millwood definitely has good taste when it comes to design!

“We were not bothered whether we bought old or new but, in the end, the home at Millwood Place had all the features we wanted so it was an easy decision to make. And the sales team at Millwood were very friendly and helpful when we were in the process of buying our home. We wanted some things done to the house before we moved in and they organised it all for us within the timescale that we wanted.”

So does this mean that they would be happy to recommend Millwood Designer Homes to friends and family?

“Yes, absolutely,” says Mohamed. “The homes in Millwood Place are lovely and everyone is really friendly. In fact, we have already recommended Millwood Place to some of our old neighbours!”

The last home at Millwood Place is now reserved. For further information on any other Millwood developments, visit: mdh.uk.com
