With research claiming that first time buyers need to find an average of £37,000 up front before they can buy their first home, Taylor Wimpey North West says that isn’t the case at The Deck in Runcorn, where all you need to buy a new apartment is £2,975!

Thanks to its popular Easystart** shared equity scheme, first time buyers only need to save the equivalent of a second hand car or luxury overseas holiday to be able to afford a perfect pad of their own.

Amie Reeves, regional sales manager for Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “With news of getting onto the ladder costing around £37,000, it’s no surprise that many first time buyers stay in rented accommodation or living with their parents. However, this figure couldn’t be further removed from the reality of buying a home at The Deck. With our one bedroom apartments starting from as little as £59,458 through the Easystart scheme, it really is possible to buy your first place with just a £2,975 deposit!”

First time buyers taking advantage of Easystart can buy a new Taylor Wimpey home for as little as 85% of the price now. Simply pay a 5% deposit on exchange of contracts, and 80% of the price via your prearranged mortgage on completion. Taylor Wimpey will then loan you the remaining 15%, with no rent or interest to pay for up to 10 years.

Plot 299, the Spring, priced at £59,458, is a contemporary one bedroom apartment just perfect for a first time buyer looking for a home in a location close to a host of amenities. The well designed accommodation comprises an open plan kitchen / living room, ideal for entertaining friends, a good sized bedroom and modern bathroom.

Amie adds: “For those keen to get get moving saving £2,975 should be a much more realistic target than £37,000! As you can imagine this scheme is very popular and, as there’s limited availability, those interested in finding out more should get in touch with us now to avoid missing out.”

A stylish collection of 466 one and two bedroom apartments, The Deck is located near to the centre of the old town, enjoying communal recreational areas and a range of retail facilities. Situated on some of Runcorn’s former ship repair yards, within sight of the famous Runcorn Bridge, the development opens up public access to the old quay of the Manchester Ship Canal, spearheading the regeneration of a neglected brownfield area into a vibrant new community.
