Homeownership made easy in Scotland

Step onto the property ladder with a stylish, affordable home of your own with help from Redrow.

The award-winning housebuilder is offering purchasers the chance to snap up a brand new home at selected developments across central Scotland for a fraction of the cost with its ‘easi:buy’ scheme.

Available in Edinburgh, Dalkeith, Prestonpans and Dunfermline in the east of the country and at Braehead, near Glasgow, in the west, it allows customers to defer paying between 15 and 25% of the purchase price of a brand new home for up to 10 years.

Added to this Redrow is offering an incentive package designed to make setting up home even more affordable, with carpets and integrated washer-dryer included and legal fees paid up to £500.

Mary McHutchison, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland), explained: “At Redrow we understand how frustrating it can be either living with relatives or spending ‘dead money’ on rent, when what you really want is a home of your own. With the help of our ‘easi:buy’ scheme you can purchase your dream home at a realistic price.

“Raising a large cash deposit can be difficult, particularly if you are paying rent while you’re trying to save. But with ‘easi:buy’ you should only need a relatively small deposit of around 5% of the reduced cost, making homeownership more affordable.”

For example at Optima in Edinburgh a £120,000 two-bedroom apartment can be bought for an initial outlay of just £96,000, with a 5% deposit amounting to £4,800. The outstanding balance can be repaid at any time over the 10 years when the purchaser has more funds available or when they come to resell.

The ‘easi:buy’ payment is subject to terms and conditions and the deferred element is paid back at market value at the time of payment, which could go down as well as up.

For added peace of mind, customers will also receive free mortgage protection insurance for one year.

“At Redrow we want to make the transition to homeownership as simple as possible for our customers and, with that in mind, we’re offering to help save them time and money through a combination of ‘easi:buy’ and other valuable incentives. They’re available on selected properties for reservations up to the end of October,” Mary explained.

‘Easi:buy’ is also available on two-bedroom houses at Pear Tree Park, Dalkeith (15% deferred payment); three-bedroom terraced properties at The Potteries in Prestonpans (20% deferred payment); two-bedroom ‘Argal’ style apartments (20% deferred payment) and three-bedroom terraced houses (15% deferred) at Middlebank Rise, Dunfermline; and two-bedroom apartments at Riverside Point, Braehead (25% of asking price deferred).
