Fabulous autumn festivals in Cyprus

Cyprus’ vast array of festivals is one of the best reasons to visit the destination this autumn.

Renowned for its year round sunshine, Cyprus’ weather is ideal at this time of the year to make the most of the island’s great variety of events. Celebrations will start with the 50th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on 1 October when visitors and locals can join in the festivities. Other top autumn events will include:

FxPro Rally 4-6 November 2010
With the Cyprus Tourism Organisation acting as one of the main sponsors, the Fx Pro Rally is widely regarded as one of the most important events on the motor sport’s diary. This exciting race takes competitors through the scenic and challenging terrain surrounding Limassol and allows spectators close access to the driver and their vehicles. This year, Cyprus will also host the first ever Love Cyprus Golden Stage Rally on 7 November where drivers will be going head to head on a unique special stage for a minimum prize fund of €150,000.00. Troodos Grape Festival until 14 November 2010
Taking place in various scenic Troodos wine villages from September to November including Vouni, Koilani and Vasa, the Troodos Grape Festival is a fantastic opportunity to find out more about local wines but also tantalise your tastebuds with mouth-watering Cypriot dishes. Local bands and dance groups perform, making the event a feast for all the senses.

Cyprus International Four-Day Challenge 25-28 November 2010
An established event on the running calendar, the Cyprus International Four-Day Challenge features four different races ranging from a 6km trial race to half a marathon allowing all levels of runner to take part.
