Affordable new homes in Lancashire and Liverpool

All new Redrow homes boast contemporary kitchens.

If you thought you’d missed out on HomeBuy Direct, then think again as a second tranche of this valuable help onto the property ladder is available on selected Redrow homes.

Christine Aitken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), explained: “Would-be homeowners may think they’ve left it too late to take advantage of HomeBuy Direct, but that’s not the case. Three of our sites in Lancashire, plus one in Liverpool, were awarded additional Government funding under ‘Kickstart 2’, which means there’s still time to buy the home of your dreams at a realistic price.”

The Government-backed HomeBuy Direct scheme is available on selected Redrow homes at Cedar Walk and Sandhurst Gardens in Chorley, Spinners Mews in Chadderton near Oldham and at Cressington Heath near Garston, South Liverpool.

With the offer of an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price, jointly funded by Redrow and the Homes and Communities Agency, certain groups of purchasers can initially save almost a third off the price of a brand new home. The loan is interest-free for the first five years and can be repaid when the customer has more funds available or they come to resell.

It means a three-bedroom ‘Ivel’, at Cressington Heath, on the market for £169,995, can be snapped up for an initial payment of just £118,996 using HomeBuy Direct.

“HomeBuy Direct isn’t just for first time buyers, it’s also available to those starting over after a relationship break-up and families who can prove they need extra space,” Christine commented.

“It could be the difference between resigning yourself to a lifetime of spending ‘dead’ money on rent or stepping onto the property ladder with a home of your own.”

The valuable help is also available at Sandhurst Gardens, off Pilling Lane – just half a mile from Chorley town centre – and the Cedar Walk phase of nearby Buckshaw Village. Prices start from £89,995 for an apartment at Cedar Walk or just £62,996 with HomeBuy Direct; while at Sandhurst Gardens prices start from £124,995 or only £87,496 with HomeBuy Direct.

In Chadderton, near Oldham, one-bedroom apartments at Spinners Mews are on the market at the competitive price of £79,995. And with HomeBuy Direct customers could find themselves catapulted onto the property ladder for an initial outlay of as little as £55,996.

“Customers who take advantage of HomeBuy Direct should only need a relatively small deposit and to apply for a mortgage with a maximum loan-to-value of 70%. This will generally give them access to much improved mortgage interest rates,” Christine explained.

“Whether you’re starting out or starting over, our experienced sales team and our HomeBuy agent will guide you through the application process and make everything as simple and straight-forward as possible.”

To take advantage of HomeBuy Direct your annual household income must be less than £60,000.
