Fun half-term activities at the Heritage Motor Centre

The Heritage Motor Centre is organising a whole host of fun filled activities for families to enjoy during October half term from Saturday 23 – Sunday 31 October.
With over 200 historic British cars on display, plus interactive zones and cars you can climb in, a free daily quiz plus Go Karts and a Miniature Roadway, there is plenty to entertain the entire family!
In addition, on Thursday 28 October visitors can take part in ‘The Big Draw’, part of the national 'Big Draw' incentive to get children drawing and make them connect with museum collections in new and enjoyable ways. This year’s theme will be 'Make your Mark’ which will encourage visitors to make their mark in the Big Draw Visitors Book. For one day only there will be a giant page where visitors can add their thumb print, doodle round it and add comments about the Museum. ‘The Big Draw’, activities which take place in the Education Room from 11am - 3pm, are free but normal Museum entry fees apply.
To get families into the spirit of Halloween, free 'spooky fact' family tours with the Museum’s very own Count Dracula will take place on 31 October. Plus, visitors can take part in free Halloween themed activities in the Education Room from 11am - 3pm.
Model aircraft fans are in for a treat when the HMC hosts the annual ‘Large Model Association Static Display and Trade Show’ on Sunday 24 October from 10am – 4pm. This fantastic indoor show will feature over 100 large radio controlled model aircraft, many of which have starred in feature films and on TV. Models will include Wellington, Lancaster, Vulcan and Victor Bombers all with wingspans from 10ft - 22ft. Visitors will be able to watch modelling demonstrations, model aircraft engine start-ups and enjoy a hands-on opportunity to fly a radio controlled model simulator.
Go Karts, Miniature Roadway & the 4x4 Experience will also be running throughout half term. Sessions run daily, weather permitting, from 11am – 4pm and are open to non-museum visitors. Stop Start - learner driving experiences for 15+ years in dual controlled vehicles are great for bored teenagers.
Penny Tyler, Marketing Officer for the Heritage Motor Centre stated “With our prized collection of cars, quizzes, The Big Draw, spooky tours and Large Model Aircraft Show, families are guaranteed a fun and thrilling time when they visit us this half term”.
