Swap city life for quality of life at Hinchley Park

Young families seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of London life can find their perfect home in leafy Surrey – as the Edhouse family found out.
When baby David arrived on the scene in spring of this year, proud parents Bruce and Aylin were keen to swap their Chiswick flat for somewhere less hectic, with excellent schools and good transport links into London, where Bruce works.
The young couple found it all, and more, with a three-bedroom house at Taylor Wimpey’s Hinchley Park development in the Surrey village of Hinchley Wood, close to Esher. And having moved in just six weeks after reserving the property, they have been pinching themselves ever since!
“Our new place is so homely, and David seems really happy crawling around on the new carpets – he seems to love it,” says Aylin.
“We have so much more house than we could get in London and having parking space is really great. Back in Chiswick we could never park outside the flat, but here I can have David with me and take the shopping inside without having to worry.”
Travelling into London is working out well for Bruce too, as Aylin explains: “His commute now is only 15 minutes longer than it was when we were in London. Bruce has a nice 12-minute walk to Hinchley Wood station each day, and the journey into Waterloo takes around half an hour. It’s surprising how quick it is, considering we are now 14 miles out in Surrey.
“The location is just brilliant. Hinchley Wood has some lovely shops and everything you need, including a bakery, a butcher’s and a surgery. There are the local primary and comprehensive schools just a few minutes away – and they have good reputations, which is important for us for later on down the line.
“And down the road, Esher is so lovely to visit and do some shopping.”
Hinchley Park offers a collection of stylish one and two-bedroom executive coach houses and apartments through to spacious three, four-bedroom houses, with prices ranging from just £239,995 to £699,995.
The three-bedroom ‘Portrush’ at Plot 24, for example, is priced £429,995 and benefits from a lounge/dining room with French doors to the rear garden, a contemporary fitted kitchen/breakfast room, a guest cloakroom, an en-suite master bedroom, two further bedrooms and a main bathroom with a garage and additional parking
Selected homes at the development are available with Taylor Wimpey’s easymover scheme, which lets customers sit back and relax while the housebuilder finds a buyer for their existing property – usually in around six weeks and sometimes in as little as a fortnight. Further details are available from the Sales Executive.
Hinchley Park offers the peace and tranquillity of a traditional village, yet boasts everything for high-quality day-to-day living on the doorstep.
The delightful town of Esher, just over a mile away, offers a host of restaurants, bars and cafés, while excellent shopping can be found in nearby Kingston and Guildford.
Only 14 miles from London, northbound trains to Waterloo and southbound trains to Guildford can be caught at Hinchley Wood railway station every 30 minutes.
For families, the area is renowned for the quality of its state and independent schools, which include Milbourne Lodge, Rowan Preparatory, Emberhurst and Claremont Fan Court, while Hinchley Wood primary and secondary schools are well-regarded and close to home.
