Officials from Taylor Wimpey’s Chaworth Gardens development of houses for sale in Nottinghamshire are invited to the grand launch of brand new sports facilities in Ravenshead.

Executives from Taylor Wimpey East Midlands have attended the official opening of a brand new sports and leisure complex neighbouring its development of houses for sale in Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire – having been invited as a thank-you for helping to fund the facilities.

As part of its Chaworth Gardens development of new homes in Nottinghamshire, Taylor Wimpey has contributed £80,000 towards the construction of a multi-use games area and a 3G five-a-side football pitch next to Ravenshead Leisure Centre in Longdale Lane.

The opening ceremony was carried out by Cllr Tom Pettengell, Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council, and among those attending were Steve Farmer, Managing Director of Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, and Fiona White, Sales Executive at the Chaworth Gardens development of property for sale in Nottinghamshire.

Steve says: “We were delighted to attend this exciting event to celebrate the enrichment of leisure opportunities available in Ravenshead.

“At Taylor Wimpey, we are committed to developing communities as well as building high-quality new properties in Nottinghamshire, and we are pleased to have been able to help create these fabulous sports pitches for the benefit of local people.”

Plans have been in the pipeline to construct the new pitches for several years, after a need for more facilities for young people in the village was identified during public consultations conducted by Ravenshead Parish Council, which owns and manages the leisure centre.

Taylor Wimpey has funded half of the £160,000 cost of the development in fulfilment of a planning requirement set by Gedling Borough Council to provide recreational facilities as part of the Chaworth Gardens development.

An additional £14,400 has been provided through a Nottinghamshire County Council Local Improvement Scheme grant and the remainder has been paid for with parish council funds.

Cllr Joe Lonergan, Chairman of Ravenshead Parish Council, says: “Taylor Wimpey has provided a significant contribution which has made a huge difference to this important project.

“We simply would not have been able to turn our plans into reality without Taylor Wimpey’s support, and inviting company executives to help us celebrate the opening of these fantastic new facilities was the least we could do to thank them.”

Taylor Wimpey East Midlands is currently constructing a development of two, three and four-bedroom homes adjacent to the leisure centre site at Chaworth Gardens in Ravenshead, with prices starting at £135,995.

Further information is available by visiting the Sales Centre, located off Longdale Lane, Ravenshead, and open seven days a week from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
