Redrow's affordably-priced homes in Merthyr Tydfil are ideal for first time buyers looking to get a foothold on the property ladder.

The newly released two-bedroom homes at Gelli Dawel are ideal starter homes and the three-bedroom houses would suit those moving out of the typical starter home bracket and into the more traditional family market.

Luly Brice, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), said: “It’s a great time for first time buyers to step onto the property ladder at Gelli Dawel, as we currently have a good selection of well-priced homes available.

“Our two-bedroom homes are affordably priced for would-be homeowners, whereas the three-bedroom homes are perfect for those looking for a slightly larger first home, perhaps to accommodate young children or with the intention of starting a family. They may have two incomes or will perhaps be relying on help from the ‘bank of mum and dad’.”

The development is also attracting attention from those looking to ‘buy to let’ as the homes represent a good investment opportunity.

“Investors will also be attracted by the affordable prices as well as the convenient location close to Merthyr town centre and within easy reach of Cardiff, which should make finding tenants easier,” Luly added.

“The homes are low maintenance and require no costly renovations, so they are a hassle free choice compared to some properties in the second hand sector, which can require a great deal of work to bring them up to the same high standard.”

Each property is fitted with Redrow’s quality interior specification, including contemporary kitchens featuring floor to ceiling units and top name appliances, plus modern bathrooms with pristine white suites and chrome finish taps.

Gelli Dawel is surrounded by countryside and the scenic Black Mountains, yet still close to all the amenities of Merthyr town centre, from high street shops and quaint markets, to churches, dentists and doctors, all close at hand, and there is a good choice of both Welsh and English speaking schools nearby.

Current available are two and three-bedroom homes priced from £111,995 to £133,995, plus four-bedroom houses from £199,995.
