Dave Rimmer, site manager at a Taylor Wimpey development in Chester, has had his great work at the housing site recognised in a national awards scheme, for the second time.

Dave is site manager at Taylor Wimpey Manchester’s Regency Court development on Black Diamond Street. He has won a Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) in its Pride in the Job Awards scheme, two years after winning the same award for his work at Cheetham Hill, Manchester development Appleton Gardens.

2010 sees the 30th anniversary of the Pride in the Job Awards – the only awards which recognise the work of site managers.

There were more than 13,000 contenders for the Pride in the Job awards this year. Dave is one of just 400 to receive a Quality Award and he now qualifies for the next heat where entrants will battle it out to earn an NHBC Seal of Excellence award.

Winning a Pride in the Job award involves a huge amount of commitment and hard work. Judging is based on 38 different elements of site management, from technical knowledge, consistency in the build process to excellent leadership and organisational skills.

Dave said: “This is the best accolade you can get as a site manager so I’m really happy that the work myself and my team have been putting in has been recognised. We always try to maintain a very high standard of build.”

Taylor Wimpey Manchester managing director Bob Pickthall has congratulated Dave on his efforts. He said: “To receive the Pride in the Job Quality Award is a great achievement for Dave and is evidence of the high standards our site managers work towards. I’m sure visitors to the development will be very happy to hear that build work is managed by a two time award winner.

“Only site managers who demonstrate exceptional standards in every area of their work on site and the homes they build are considered for a Pride in the Job award, so we are immensely proud of the recognition Dave has achieved.”

Regency Court is located in the heart of Chester city centre on Black Diamond Street. The development is just five minutes walk from the Cathedral Quarter and Chester train station, which offers fantastic commuter links to Liverpool, Warrington, Manchester and further afield. Two, three and four bedroom homes with off road parking start from £99,995.

More information about Regency Court is available by visiting the development, which is open Thursday to Monday, 11.00am until 5.00pm.
