Quality win for Chester development

Housebuilder Morris’ popular Upton Dene development has won a top industry prize for the quality build of its homes.
Bob Crabtree and David Williams, the building site managers behind the impressive Upton Dene, were picked from over 18,000 site managers nationwide to be one of the select few awarded the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job Award.
Morris picked up 13 Pride in the Job Awards from the NHBC, a record number for a company of its size.
The awards are part of the NHBC’s ongoing campaign to promote on-site excellence in the housebuilding industry and to recognise the expertise of quality site managers.
Judges look for consistently high standards of site management, including good leadership skills, technical expertise, strong health and safety controls and an overall commitment to building quality new homes.
Commenting on the award, Bob Crabtree said: “At Morris, we’re passionate about the homes that we build and the high standards that we set. The NHBC awards illustrate our commitment to all aspects of the running of the site and the quality control measures being used.”
Dave Hesson, Morris’ regional managing director, adds: “We’re delighted Bob and David’s hard work have been recognised. They have been the driving force behind Upton Dene ensuring that everyone involved has the ability and enthusiasm to meet the high standards they set.
“Our impressive success in this year’s NHBC awards highlights the importance we place on consistent high standards and build quality. Bob and David and their team are excellent examples of this philosophy.”
The NHBC Pride in the Job awards recently follow a strong showing for Morris in the NHBC Health and Safety Awards where Bob and David from Upton Dene and John Pickering from the Rivington View development were awarded Highly commended and commended accolades.
