Increased demand for larger homes in Usk

21st October 2010 Print

There has been a marked rise in the number of buyers in the region seeking bigger homes, according to Barratt which has relaunched some of its larger units at Burrium Gate in Usk.

“The home designs here have been specially selected to blend in beautifully with the breathtaking scenery surrounding them,” said Barratt sales director, Adrian Bird. “So the entire range is desirable – but we are noticing an increase in buyers asking to see our largest homes, the Canterbury and the Longfellow.

“This comes as no surprise. In fact, we re-launched these larger units after market consultation suggested an increased demand. And it is wonderful to see these striking homes given the attention they deserve.”

The Canterbury design, priced from £595,000 is a five bedroom detached executive family home with a double garage.

The entrance porch leads to a spacious hallway with a handy downstairs cloakroom. There is a large and airy drawing room with french doors opening out on to the rear garden. And a high quality, fully fitted kitchen and breakfast room is also featured – as well as an adjoining utility room.

The house offers a dining room – also with french doors – and a family lounge with bay windows to the front of the property. Upstairs are five spacious bedrooms with bedrooms one and two both benefiting from ensuite facilities. There is also an attractive, colour-coordinated family bathroom.

Also proving popular is the imposing Longfellow house, priced from £625,000. This detached four bedroom executive family house offers a double or a triple garage. A large hall with a cloakroom leads through to a superb lounge with french doors opening out to the rear garden. There is a separate dining room, a study and a high quality, fully fitted breakfasting kitchen. An open-plan family room and a separate utility room are also featured.

Bedroom one benefits from ensuite facilities and a walk-in wardrobe and bedroom two also features an ensuite. The remaining two well-proportioned bedrooms have use of the main family bathroom with separate shower.

“These homes are beautifully positioned around a traditional courtyard,” said Adrian. And they offer buyers a chance to lose themselves in the peace and tranquility of the area whilst providing all the space a growing family could need. I expect demand for these homes to increase still further over the coming months.”
