An Easystart for first time buyers in Wrexham

“We wanted to pay our own mortgage, not someone elses,” says Wrexham homebuyer Kevin Walker, of his recent move to Taylor Wimpey’s Mountain View development.
Kevin, 27, had previously been renting a home with his partner Ceri Jones, 24, in Wrexham, but decided it was the right time to get on the property ladder. Thanks to their local knowledge, they were well aware of Taylor Wimpey’s new-build development Mountain View and knew they could use the housebuilder’s Easystart shared equity scheme to bring the home within their price range.
Under the Easystart scheme, first time buyers can own 100 per cent of a new home from day one but pay just 85 per cent of the price now. The other 15 per cent is offered by the housebuilder as an interest free loan to be repaid within 10 years*.
Kevin commented: “We had been renting a home for about a year but we knew it was a waste of our money and we wanted to be able to pay our own mortgage instead of someone else’s.
“We’d heard about Taylor Wimpey’s Easystart and it sounded ideal for us. Not only did it bring the price of the house down but it also reduced the deposit in proportion, which really helped us.
“Mountain View really appealed to us because it’s quiet and out of town. We liked new-build homes because of the great schemes we could use to buy them, which just aren’t available on second hand properties, meaning they’re not as affordable. The Taylor Wimpey sales executives have also been really nice and helped everything run smoothly for us.
“Now we’re just enjoying being in our own home. It hasn’t really sunk in yet that we own it!”
Regional sales and marketing director Anthony Mansfield said: “The Easystart scheme is an excellent opportunity for first time buyers to get a foot on the property ladder and is particularly attractive to buyers who are finding it difficult to raise larger deposits.
“I’m really glad it has helped Kevin and Ceri buy their first home and I hope they spend many happy years there.”
All housetypes offered under the Easystart scheme at Mountain View come complete with three bedrooms and allocated parking.
The Shannon housetype feature a fabulous kitchen, a spacious lounge with French doors to private garden, a family bathroom, downstairs cloakroom, three bedrooms and an en-suite shower room to the master bedroom suite. A Shannon showhome is open to visit at Mountain View, to show potential buyers how beautiful this home can look fully decorated.
Using Easystart, these homes are available from £127,495, with a deposit of just £7,000 necessary.
The development is situated on Brymbo and Tanyfron Link Road. It is just a short drive from the A483, which leads to the M53 and the M56 and M6. Wrexham train station is close by, providing good rail links to most major cities.
The development benefits from being a short distance from both Wrexham town centre and Chester city centre, so homeowners are never too far away from local amenities, urban attractions and entertainment, but can still enjoy a picturesque setting at home.
Details of the Easystart scheme at Mountain View are available at taylorwimpey.co.uk or at the sales information centre at the development which is open five days a week from Thursday to Monday, between 11am and 5pm.
