Suzuki GB Plc relocates to Milton Keynes

6th October 2005 Print
Suzuki GB has completed the building of a 170,000 sq ft distribution, training and office complex at Snelshall, Milton Keynes and has - over the past three months - transferred its Technical and Parts Operations to this new facility.

Today the company announces its intention to transfer all remaining activities, currently located in Crawley, West Sussex, to the new site by mid 2006.

The activities currently operating from Crawley and affected by this decision are the Automobile, Motorcycle and Marine sales and marketing operations as well as Finance, Administration and the IT functions.

The company has been based in Crawley for the past 23 years and has seen a significant expansion of its sales, particularly in the past 10 years. The £15m investment in the Milton Keynes site is seen as a crucial step towards further expanding the business and providing first class support to its network of over 350 Automobile, Motorcycle and Marine dealerships in the UK.

Mr Takanori Suzuki, Managing Director commented: "The company has great regrets in leaving its home in Crawley however we have to look to the future and our investment in Milton Keynes will enable us to increase our efficiency in distributing our products.

"The new facility will also provide some of the most advanced technical training facilities available in the UK, which we feel sure will be of great long term benefit to our customers. We realise that this decision will have a significant impact on the 50 Crawley based staff. We are consulting with them to help minimise any impact and we hope that as many as possible will be able to relocate to Milton Keynes," Mr Suzuki said.
