Suzuki GB PLC has signed an agreement with network service providers Autogreen which will enable the company to comply with European Union regulations regarding the disposal of old Suzuki vehicles. The recently enacted 'End-of-Life Vehicles [Producer Responsibility] Regulations 2005' make manufacturers responsible for establishing a nationwide take-back network for qualifying end-of-life vehicles at no cost to the final owner, and for their environmentally-friendly disposal.
By 1 January, 2006 car makers must have an operational take-back network in place, and by 1 January, 2007 they must take back all qualifying vehicles.
