First time buyer bucks the trend in Grimsby

While new research shows that the average age of a first time buyer is now 37 – it seems that Grimsby laboratory assistant Cleo Field is bucking the new homes trend.
At 23, Cleo has just moved into her very own home at Stamford Homes’ popular Freshney Green development in the town – thanks to an initiative designed to help first time buyers step onto the housing ladder.
Cleo – who moved to the development to be closer to her place of work – was living at home with her parents 30 miles away in Kirton-In-Lindsey up until just a few weeks ago.
Now the proud owner of a stylish two-bedroom home she said: “I was looking for a place of my own but was unable to realistically afford it. I spoke to Stamford Homes who offered me the EasyStart 80/20 scheme, without which I would have almost certainly been unable to move.
“I’ve met the neighbours and there is a real community spirit about the development. It feels like I’ve been here for ages,” added Cleo – who has settled into her new home with her two pet cats and rabbit.
EasyStart is a simple solution to buying your ideal home at a price you can afford, allowing customers to pay for just 80 per cent of the new home yet still own 100 per cent of it.
Customers can reserve the home of their choice, ensuring that legal completion is within the specified timescale, and Stamford Homes will pay the remaining 20 per cent by means of an interest free loan until the final payments is received.
