Merriman completes latest contemporary home

Merriman Build has just completed one of its most prestigious individual residential projects.
Pool House in a Charnwood conservation village is an 8,700 square feet property built over three floors and includes a basement swimming pool, gymnasium, and cinema.
The original property was bought and parts of the original building demolished. The owners chose Merriman to work with architects The Art of Building, and Leicester-based PRP Engineers.
Built on three acres of landscaped grounds, the contemporary house was a technical challenge for Merriman Build – who spent nearly six months on the groundwork, basement and installing the swimming pool structure.
There is a glass-clad bridge/walkway above the state of the art kitchen providing access to guest areas and the family bedroom suites.
“The end product is amazing,” said Merriman Build Manager Martyn Snutch. It was great being able to work with such an imaginative design and to see the whole project come to fruition has been hugely rewarding.”
Merriman fitted the very latest solar reflective glazing throughout the property and glass was used extensively to increase the sense of space and light.
“We think the property is worthy of winning any building awards for its contemporary design and imaginative use of glass,” he added.
Pool House is the latest in a number of recent contract projects completed across Leicestershire by Merriman Build.
