Housebuilder Stamford Homes gave schoolchildren an extra curricular treat – when they were special guests at a topping out ceremony next door to their school.

Around 60 pupils from St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School in George Street, Bridlington enjoyed a VIP view of a huge crane lifting a complete roof structure onto the newly built properties.

“The children had a great time with us and the Stamford Homes team really enjoyed sharing the exciting experience with them,” said George Tupling, site manager for Stamford Homes North, who are the developers building the properties on behalf of East Yorkshire Riding Council.

The children have also been invited to draw pictures of the procedure and the winner will receive a special prize,

Stamford Homes are contract building four three-bedroom social housing bungalows for the local authority in George Street but it is only part of a programme to build 145 homes across five sites in Bridlington.
