Belmont Suzuki gets winter sales off to a flying start

13th November 2008 Print
Suzuki Belmont With new car registrations down over a fifth in October compared to the same time last year according to the latest figures from the SMMT, car retailer Belmont Suzuki in Edinburgh, which is part of the John Martin Group is bucking the trend, reporting a strong start to the last quarter of the year, a notoriously difficult period for car retailers as sales traditionally slowdown in the run up to Christmas.

Whilst other dealers are struggling during the latest economic downturn, the Sighthill site on the western side of the city achieved over half of its quarterly new retail sales target during October, and is on course to surpass its 100 per cent objective for the three-month period before the end of November.

The Grand Vitara four-wheel drive model made up nearly 20 per cent of sales at a time when sales in the segment are on the decline, with the Swift supermini also proving to be a popular purchase with 65 per cent of customers taking advantage of the very affordable Suzuki 0 per cent APR offer, reflecting the greater number of motorists who are turning to competitive finance schemes to get behind the wheel of a new vehicle.

Commenting on the recent trend, John Shelley, Sales Manager for Belmont Suzuki said: “It has been a very encouraging start to the last months of the year. The Suzuki product range offers exceptional value for money, coupled with the affordable means of buying a car, which is a very attractive formula when many motorists are looking to make their income go that much further.”
