Ipswich homes within 'Easi' reach for first time buyers

17th November 2010 Print

A deposit of just £4248 could be enough to secure a brand new home in Ipswich, which should be music to the ears of Suffolk home buyers who feared they had been priced out of the property market.

Purchasers in the market for a two-bedroom apartment at Redrow’s Bramford Gardens can use the developer’s ‘easi:buy’ incentive to put off paying 15% of the initial asking price until they have more funds available or come to resell.

This means a 5% deposit could be all they need to obtain a mortgage on selected properties, hopefully giving them access to better rates.

Suzanne Irons, sales director for Redrow Homes Eastern, explains: “At Redrow we understand how easy it is to get caught in the rental trap, spending money on rent when you really want own a home of your own. With this in mind, we’re delighted we’ve been able to extend our ‘easi:buy’ scheme to selected two-bedroom homes at Bramford Gardens.

“It’s the ideal way for first time buyers and others who may be struggling to find a mortgage to step on to the property ladder as they should only require a 5% deposit and still have access to some of the more favourable interest rates normally reserved for those with large deposits or substantial equity in an existing home.”

Redrow’s ‘easi:buy’ scheme gives them up to 10 years to repay the 15% deferred portion – but customers will own 100% of their home from day one. It means two-bedroom homes are currently available for an initial outlay from just £84,958, rather than the full price of £99,950. Just a 5% deposit of £4,248 will be required to satisfy some lenders.

“And unlike renting, where you don’t have an asset to show for your hard earned cash at the end of the day, if you purchase a home at Sutton Woods and property prices increase, you could potentially find that the value of your investment has increased in years to come,” Suzanne added.

As well as featuring Redrow’s superior specification, new homes also have many advantages over the second-hand sector, including easy maintenance, energy efficiency and no requirements for costly maintenance.

Good road and rail links from Ipswich make Bramford Gardens a great base for commuters to places like Cambridge, Norwich and even London, which is just 75 minutes by train.
