Barratt helps parents play Santa in Paulton

18th November 2010 Print

Barratt is offering parents the chance to give their children the best Christmas present ever – with a special deal at Fieldways in Paulton.

A ground-breaking agreement, called Parent Power, rewards the growing number of Mums and Dads who put down a deposit on their children’s first home.

“Owning your own home is something many people aspire to – but it is tricky for some to finance that first step,” said Barratt sales director, Andrea Pilgrim. “And that is where we come in. We will pay the interest that would have been earned on savings at a highly competitive rate – well above the Bank of England’s base rate.

“What a fantastic Christmas present – to be able to help your children or indeed grandchildren enter the property market for the first time and own a home of their own at this wonderful development.”

The offer means that parents, or grandparents who want to help their offspring get on the first rung of the property ladder can do so without losing a penny. Barratt will pay five per cent interest per annum for a full five years on a deposit of up to 20 per cent.

“This means, for example, that if someone puts down a maximum deposit of £24,000 on a property costing £120,000, they will receive the equivalent of £1,200 a year in interest for five years,” said Andrea. “And this is paid as a lump sum of £6,000 at the time of completion.”

Current availability at Fieldways includes the three bedroom Maidstone design, from £187,995 and the spacious three bedroom Enford house, from £194,995.

Fieldways is located in Paulton, North Somerset. It is well served by well known supermarkets and other local amenities – including schools, churches, pubs and restaurants.

For details of current availability visit the sales office at Church Street, Paulton, open from 11am to 6pm Thursday to Monday.
