City West Commercials and Mercedes-Benz go for growth
There’s a new three-pointed star rising for van and truck operators in Cornwall.
City West Commercials, the official Mercedes-Benz dealer for the county, as well as for Devon, Somerset and the Bristol area, is opening a new dealership in Roche.
Located immediately off the main A30 transport artery on the town’s Victoria Business Park, the new facility will offer sales of new and Approved Used Mercedes-Benz trucks and vans. It also has a service department offering long workshop opening hours and a comprehensively stocked parts department.
City West Commercials previously served locally-based operators from a site in St Austell. However, growing demand for its award-winning vehicles and services meant a move to a larger, better-equipped home was needed.
“We’d been struggling with a lack of space and accessibility at St Austell for some time,” said Depot Manager David Lang. “The workshop was constantly at full capacity, we need more parking space and there was no room to expand.
“So we took the opportunity to look for a more suitable home, and we’re delighted with the new Roche site. It’s ideally situated on a main transport route, with easy access from the town and the motorway, and has the space we need to continue growing our business.”
The new premises offered just what City West Commercials was looking for – a building approximately three times bigger than the St Austell facility, and a spacious yard with plenty of room for parking and vehicle storage.
Work on transforming the site into a fully operational new and used vehicle dealership – complete with canteen – is now nearing completion, and David and his team are itching to move in and welcome the first customers.
“The finishing touches are being put to the building but we have already started to move our staff and operations over,” continued David. “The sales team have been taking orders at the new site since 1st November and the workshop and parts department will be fully open for business in December.”
City West Commercials sells and supports the entire Mercedes-Benz truck and van range, from the compact and stylish Vito van to the mighty Actros tractor unit, as well as the Fuso Canter family of light trucks, from sites in Avonmouth, Bristol, Exeter and Taunton as well as its new Roche depot.
