Rent to HomeBuy allows you to try a shared ownership home before you buy it – you rent the home for a set period at a discounted rent, so you can make sure the home and the scheme are right for you while saving for your deposit.
When you’ve got your deposit, you can then apply to buy, under the Shared Ownership scheme. Rental is set from £870, compared to the average of £1,090 a month in a private rented apartment in the same area. The saving of just over £200 a month will allow tenants to save for a deposit towards purchasing their apartment!
The collection of one- and two-bedroom apartments at Factory Quarter are set around landscaped grounds which include a children’s play area. Kitchens are equipped with integrated stainless steel electric oven, hob, extractor hood, fridge / freezer, washer / dryer and dishwasher. Selected apartments have an ensuite shower room while all bathrooms feature over-bath showers with glazed glass bath screen, ceramic white tiling and an electric heated chrome towel rail.

And just like Gensishomes’ Shared Ownership scheme, your total household income must be less than £60,000 per annum, you can’t own a home already and be unable to buy outright on the open market. You must be able to demonstrate you can afford to pay the set rent as well as other financial commitments on a monthly basis, and that you will be able to do so in the event that you take a mortgage out in the future.
If you wish to proceed with a Rent to HomeBuy unit, you will need to provide a holding fee of £250.00, plus an administration fee of £125.00 per person, to be named on the tenancy agreement
